What Can You Put in a Roll-Off Dumpster?
Accepted Materials for Dumpster Rentals
Most common household and construction materials are accepted in our roll-off dumpsters. Whether you're cleaning out a home in Avon, remodeling in Danville, or tearing off a roof in Brownsburg, here's what you can toss in.
Household Junk and Debris
Furniture, appliances (with Freon removed), clothing, toys, boxes, and general household clutter are all accepted. This makes our dumpsters perfect for estate cleanouts, downsizing, and spring cleaning projects across Hendricks County.
Construction and Renovation Debris
Drywall, lumber, siding, flooring, cabinets, fixtures, and other construction materials are welcome. Contractors and DIY homeowners throughout Central Indiana rely on our 16-yard dumpsters for remodeling and renovation waste.
Roofing Materials
Asphalt shingles, underlayment, flashing, and other roofing materials can go in our dumpsters. Keep in mind that roofing debris is heavy — a single layer of shingles from an average roof can weigh 2–3 tons. Plan your weight allowance accordingly.
Yard Waste and Landscaping Debris
Branches, brush, sod, dirt, and landscaping debris are accepted. If you're doing a major landscaping overhaul, our roll-off dumpsters are far more efficient than making dozens of trips to the landfill.
Prohibited Materials
For safety, environmental, and legal reasons, certain materials cannot be placed in a roll-off dumpster. Disposing of these items improperly can result in additional fees or fines.
Hazardous Materials
Paints, solvents, chemicals, pesticides, motor oil, and other hazardous materials are strictly prohibited. These require special disposal through your local hazardous waste facility. In Hendricks County, residents can use the Tox-Away Day program for safe disposal.
Other Prohibited Items
Tires, batteries, medical waste, and electronics (TVs, monitors, computers) cannot be placed in our dumpsters. Appliances containing Freon (refrigerators, air conditioners) must have the Freon professionally removed before disposal.
Tips for Efficient Dumpster Loading
Getting the most out of your dumpster rental means loading it efficiently. Break down large items like furniture and boxes before tossing them in. Place flat items like plywood and drywall along the bottom and sides. Fill gaps with smaller debris. Don't overfill — materials should not extend above the top of the dumpster walls for safe transportation.
