Estate Cleanout Dumpster Rental in Hendricks County
Clearing out a loved one's home is hard enough. A dumpster in the driveway lets you do it on your timeline, without the back-and-forth trips to the landfill.
A Quiet, Respectful Approach to a Hard Job
Estate cleanouts come at the hardest possible moment. Whether you're clearing a parent's home after a loss, prepping a property for an estate sale, or helping a family member downsize into assisted living, you don't need a hassle from the trash company. You need a roll-off dumpster delivered when you're ready, picked up when you're done, and priced honestly.
Our 16-yard roll-off dumpster is the size most families pick for a single-family estate. It holds the contents of an attic, basement, garage, and a few rooms of furniture — about 5–6 pickup-truck loads. We deliver across Hendricks County and into Morgan County, with same-day service available if the timeline is tight.
Common Estate Cleanout Scenarios
- Probate and after-loss cleanouts
- Downsizing into assisted living
- Pre-listing prep for realtors
- Hoarding cleanup and recovery
- Foreclosure and trash-out cleanouts
- Multi-decade collection clearouts
What Most Families Toss
Furniture, mattresses, carpet, clothing, books, kitchenware, papers, old toys, decades of accumulated boxes — all of it goes in the dumpster. Hold back anything sentimental, valuable, or donatable. If you're working with an estate sale company, they typically take inventory first; the dumpster goes in after the sale.

Items That Need a Separate Path
A few things from an estate can't go in the dumpster: refrigerators, freezers, and AC units (refrigerant must be removed first), TVs and computer monitors, paint and chemicals, medications (most pharmacies have take-back programs), and firearms or ammunition (local police accept these). Tires can be added for $15 each.
Estate Cleanout Dumpster FAQs
What size dumpster do I need for an estate cleanout?
A 16-yard dumpster handles most single-family estate cleanouts. For larger homes or multi-decade collections, plan on one to two 16-yard rentals back-to-back. We can swap a full dumpster for an empty one in a single trip.
How long does an estate cleanout usually take?
Most families clear a 1,500–2,500 sq ft home in 3–5 days. Our 5-day rental ($365) gives you time to sort items to keep, donate, or sell before what's left goes in the dumpster. If you need more time, additional days are $15 each.
Can I rent a dumpster on behalf of a parent's estate?
Yes. Most of our estate cleanout customers are adult children handling a parent's home — often from out of state. Booking can be done online or over the phone; we deliver to the property and bill the card on file.
What if we find items to donate during the cleanout?
We recommend sorting into three piles before tossing: keep, donate, and discard. Goodwill, Habitat ReStore Hendricks County, and several local charities accept furniture, working appliances (Freon removed), and household goods. Anything that can't be donated goes in the dumpster.
Are appliances and old electronics allowed?
Most furniture, mattresses, clothing, books, and household items are accepted. Appliances containing refrigerants (refrigerators, freezers, AC units) need to be drained and tagged before disposal — call us and we'll explain the easiest path. Old TVs and computer monitors can't go in the dumpster but Best Buy and Goodwill accept many electronics for free.
How much does an estate cleanout dumpster cost?
Estate cleanout pricing starts at $315 (3-day) or $365 (5-day). Most cleanouts fit one dumpster; larger homes occasionally need two. The 2-ton weight allowance covers typical household goods. If you've got dense items like books or tile, a swap is cheaper than overage.
