Are delivery and pickup times guaranteed?
Delivery and pickup times are not guaranteed. We service your scheduled date based on our route and availability. Keep the placement area and dumpster accessible for the full day. Online bookings are never picked up on Saturday or Sunday. Rentals that would end Sunday are picked up Monday at the same price with one complimentary day; rentals that would end Saturday are picked up Monday for the next one-day rate (normally +$10), with the extra day free. You do not choose an exact pickup time. No extra-day charge is added merely because Dumpster Dogs arrives later that day or directs a weekend pickup to Monday. Keep the dumpster safely accessible until collected.
What size dumpster do I need for my project?
The right size depends on your project. For most residential cleanouts like garage or basement clearing, our 16-yard dumpster is ideal. Visit our 16-yard dumpster page for full specifications and to book online.
What can't go in a roll-off dumpster?
For safety and environmental reasons, we cannot accept hazardous materials, including paint, oils, solvents, batteries, tires, appliances with refrigerants (like refrigerators and AC units), medical waste, asbestos, and fuel or propane tanks. If you're unsure about a specific item, please ask before loading it.
Do I need a permit for a dumpster in my driveway?
In most cases, no permit is needed when the dumpster is placed on your private property, such as your driveway. However, if the dumpster needs to be placed on a public street or right-of-way, you may need a permit from your local municipality. We can provide guidance based on your specific situation.
Will the dumpster damage my driveway?
Driveway protection is included free on every rental: our drivers place boards under the dumpster at no charge and set it down carefully. Let us know about any specific surface concerns when scheduling.
How fast can you deliver to Hendricks County?
We offer same-day and next-day delivery throughout Hendricks County when you book early in the day. For the surrounding counties, delivery is typically within 24-48 hours. Choose an available scheduled delivery date; exact arrival times are not guaranteed.
How long can I keep the dumpster?
We offer 3-day and 5-day discounted package rentals, which work well for most projects. If you need the dumpster longer, additional rental time is $15/day, subject to approval and dumpster availability. Let us know your timeline when you book, and we'll do our best to accommodate.
What happens if I fill the dumpster before my rental period ends?
No problem! Just give us a call and we can schedule an early pickup. If your project generates more debris than expected, we can also swap out the dumpster for an empty one so you can continue working.
Is there a weight limit for the dumpster?
Yes, each dumpster rental includes a weight allowance. The specific limit depends on the dumpster size and the type of materials you're disposing of. Heavy materials like concrete, dirt, or roofing shingles may have lower weight limits. We'll discuss weight limits when you book and let you know if your project may exceed them.
How do I know where to place the dumpster?
The dumpster should be placed on a level, solid surface like a driveway, parking pad, or compacted gravel. Make sure there's adequate clearance for our truck to deliver and pick up the dumpster—typically about 60 feet of overhead clearance and enough room to maneuver. Our drivers can help guide placement when they arrive.
Can I put concrete, dirt, or heavy materials in the dumpster?
Yes, we can accept concrete, dirt, and other heavy materials, but weight limits apply. These materials are much heavier than typical household debris, so you may need to limit the amount or choose a dumpster designated for heavy materials. Let us know what you're disposing of when you book so we can advise you properly.

How do I schedule pickup when I'm done?
When you're finished with the dumpster, simply give us a call or send us a message. We typically schedule pickups within 24-48 hours, and often sooner. Just make sure the dumpster is accessible and not blocked by vehicles or other obstacles.
How much does a 16-yard dumpster rental cost?
Our 16-yard roll-off dumpster is $339 for a 3-day rental and $359 for a 5-day rental. Both include 2 tons (4,000 lb) of weight. Additional weight is billed at $95 per ton (prorated by the pound) based on certified landfill scale tickets.
What additional fees might I pay?
Possible additional fees include: Extra Day $15 per additional day; Travel fee — delivery and pickup are included within 15 miles of our Danville yard, then a flat fee of $25 (15–20 mi), $50 (20–25 mi), $85 (25–30 mi), $125 (30–40 mi, extended service area), max 40-mile service area; Driveway Protection included free ($0); Failed Pickup / Service Fee (Trip Fee) $95; Blocked Access Fee $95 per occurrence; Same-Day Delivery: Free before 3:00 PM (subject to availability); After-Hours Rush Delivery Fee $50 (3:00–6:00 PM, at our discretion); Sunday Delivery Fee $200; Hazardous Materials Handling Fee $90 minimum per category plus actual costs; Contamination Cleanup Fee starting at $150; Oil/Paint Residue Cleanup Fee starting at $150; Concrete Washout Removal Fee starting at $250; Tire Disposal Fee $25 per tire; Overfilled / Above Rail Fee $95 default (Keep all material at or below any marked fill line—and below the top rail if no line is marked. Nothing may stick out or hang over the top, sides, door, or any opening; we may refuse pickup or require excess material to be removed if overfilled, and this fee may stack with Extra Day, Trip, and Blocked Access fees); Cancellation Fee of up to $75 may apply at Dumpster Dogs' discretion — earlier cancellations may qualify for a partial or full refund, while cancellations close to delivery, same-day cancellations, dispatched deliveries, or rentals with reserved inventory, scheduled routing, or operational preparation may become non-refundable; and Overweight Disposal Fee at $95 per ton (prorated by the pound) over the included 2-ton (4,000 lb) allowance for a 16-yard dumpster based on certified landfill scale tickets. Any applicable additional fees may be charged to the card on file when incurred, per the rental agreement.
Do you deliver on Sundays?
Online deliveries are Monday–Friday. Online bookings are never picked up on Saturday or Sunday. Rentals that would end Sunday are picked up Monday at the same price with one complimentary day; rentals that would end Saturday are picked up Monday for the next one-day rate (normally +$10), with the extra day free. Weekend Project Special: 10-yard Thursday→Monday $279, 16-yard Thursday→Monday $339, or 16-yard Friday→Monday $329 — each saves $10 versus the regular price for the same days (limited availability). No need to choose a time — just keep the dumpster accessible until we collect it. Call (317) 650-9219 for a weekend delivery; a $200 Sunday Delivery Fee applies to Sunday deliveries arranged by phone. A rental that simply runs through or ends on a weekend is not charged the Sunday fee. Same-day delivery requests submitted before 3:00 PM local time are Free, subject to truck and dumpster availability. Requests submitted between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM local time are at our discretion and include a flat $50 After-Hours Rush Delivery Fee. Same-day delivery is not available after 6:00 PM local time.
Can I put concrete, dirt, brick, or shingles in the dumpster?
Concrete, dirt, brick, asphalt, stone, roofing shingles, and other dense materials are limited to small quantities unless specifically approved by Dumpster Dogs prior to loading. This keeps the dumpster within safe and legal hauling weight.
